My Family

We are

My family

And we are the children of Israeli LGBTQ+ families

Who are we

We are the first generation of children born to LGBTQ+ parents in Israel. We have grown up in the LGBTQ+ community, and our very existence is a proof of its accomplishments.

With that said,

Today, the LGBTQ+ community in Israel is still fighting for full equality of rights and the legal ability to create a family.

The community’s fight for equality has been ongoing since the 1970’s, and despite many hard-fought achievements, it still faces severe discrimination in Israeli law. The various legal impairments leave children and parents without legal protection of their relationships, sometimes for their entire life.

For this reason, as well as many others, we decided to establish “My Family” as the first Israeli organization of its kind.

Our Goal

Our goal is to create a safe space for children of LGBTQ+ families in Israel, and to use our voice and unique point of view to join the fight for equality for our families and the community we grew up in.

We aspire to do this by working on two fronts:

  1. Focusing on advocacy, research, and lobbying efforts so as to bring forth a unique voice to the LGBTQ+ community and its fight for equal rights, while advancing the interests of LGBTQ+ families as a cohesive family structure.
  2. Providing support and space for children of LGBTQ+ parents.
