Today, the LGBTQ+ community in Israel is still fighting for full equality of rights and the legal ability to create a family.
The community’s fight for equality has been ongoing since the 1970’s, and despite many hard-fought achievements, it still faces severe discrimination in Israeli law. The various legal impairments leave children and parents without legal protection of their relationships, sometimes for their entire life.
For this reason, as well as many others, we decided to establish “My Family” as the first Israeli organization of its kind.
Our goal is to create a safe space for children of LGBTQ+ families in Israel, and to use our voice and unique point of view to join the fight for equality for our families and the community we grew up in.
We aspire to do this by working on two fronts:

If you are children of LGBTQ+ families – your place is with us.
You are welcome to join us by being a member of the “my family” organization. By doing so, you will be updated of our activities, introduced to new people, and be able to take an active part in our various activities and initiatives.
We would love for you to support us and help us grow. Contributions can be made via the following link through the “Jerusalem open house” organization, by writing a dedication to “Mishpachti (/my family)”.
